Wind whispers in the trees

Memories of storms past

Drowsey in the shade  

English Haiku

I've been reading that English haiku is not so much about form as content.  The idea is to invoke a feeling without expressing it.  I'm learning the 5-7-5 syllable form is more for Japanese haiku than English.


Understanding the above, I'm going to subject you to some new efforts.

Sheets of rain

Cold soggy boots

Warm fire

Spring storm

Trees bow

Spots on the window


Wind music
In the trees
Lullaby 


Rain on the roof
White noise orchestra

Comfy in bed

Fears

From the east comes dawn
A new day is upon us
Old fears swept away

Midnight Sun

Bright midnight sun

Shines through bedroom windowpane

Sleep eludes tonight

Cloudy Skys

Cloudy skys no sun

Depression seeps through dark clouds

Joy comes with the sun
